you drain more mental energy & focus dealing with petty arguments & idiocy. what you can do is mute all chat and merely play, use chat commands. i'm more for efficiency & winning so this won't appeal to most people. but anything that can cause you to tilt or hinder your focus should be removed entirely imo, why should you even remotely allow anyone else's opinion to rob you of your focus & influence your performance? language is more than merely words, there is a vast amount of emotion hidden behind the context. what's surprising to me is how you take this one scenario so personally. the moral of it is passive aggressiveness that results from ignorance. heck it can merely be from simple dislike or disdain, i'll report someone based on if they are capable of performing up to my standards (pure bias) or if i merely dislike someone for something they said if i didn't use mute all chat. tbh it's not that big of a deal, and if you think it is you live in such a small world. take a look around you at all faucets communication and tell me this type of behavior is not abused on consistent basis?

In general, the guy asking for reports is usually the big mouth who has been verbally abusing everyone the whole game anyway, and 95% of the time they are just picking on the most incompetent player that game who as you said, usually doesn't deserve to be reported. I do the same. Usually the guy calling for a report is the guy who flamed his team all game long. They dont realize that motivation is a big factor for winning and they are causing the team to break apart. The call for the report is usually the the straw that breaks the camel's back, the camel being my patience. Those are about as annoying as the guys who write "gg we lost" into all chat 3 minutes in after loosing their lane and continue doing so. Thanks to the report system I get the flamer less though.

I'm sure if latency wasn't a factor a large amount of English speaking players would play on Chinese servers. It should be more so based on the behavior of the player. You don't need to speak the same language to tell your team to rosh or to defend. There are players that generally don't care about the success of the team as a whole and those who do. I can understand Russians coming to EU West, but that doesnt make it more pleasant. I think dota is more fun if the people get along well and that's basically impossible if you cant understand a word they are writing/saying. Playing with a constantly communicating team of four who dont speak your language also makes you often feel like the outsider on your "own" server, which is actually terrible for a team game. So is communication abuse justified? I think so. That being said being muted wont change much for a person who on average isnt understood by 3/4 of his team anyways.
