Send 'add dota2' to the channel to be added to the Dota channels. Note that everything is case sensitive. You can also add yourself to 'general' channels via 'add general' (you can combine these ie add dota2 general) and other stuff for other games but I don't remember their tags since they're all inferior anyway. |

the news today is that nintendo caused this situation by gutting plans for smash bros esports leagues from the likes of ESL, twitch, redbull and more
It reads like the only thing Nintendo actively killed was the Twitch/Redbull circuit and that’s not even necessarily dead, it’s just that the timing was bad on it due to Ultimate coming out

real "blizz about bw when sc2 came out" vibes with nintendo lol

Nintendo hated the idea that their family friendly game could be played competitively. i think its the fact that nintendo is still privately trying to kill smother their games' esports scenes despite taking a publicly friendlier outlook -- though this may be because of nintendo of america being slightly different from nintendo of japan

looking at it from the perspective of someone whos occasionally followed esports game franchises with long but waning histories like starcraft, quake, street fighter, its absolutely incredible that a company has one of the few franchise competitive games that has cross generation appeal refuses to let it grow.

To be honest, after the whole pedophile situation in Smash, can't say i blame a (mostly) family friendly company from take like 50 steps away from the scene. Even if they were never in there to begin with.
I mean, the high ranks of Nintendo actually had photos, conversations, celebrations with Zero, and we all know what he did...
Is it the easy way and they shoud be taking aim to the certain individuals? Maybe... but that's another question imo.

Its a bit funny to talk about family friendliness in a work centric culture like Japan though :p But yes, the games tend to be less PG 18.

well, without the great gameplay I and excellence I would agree with that statement. Would probably exchange incredible game to fun game tho.

I don't even care what his opinions are I just like that a great, 70+ year old director has an opinion on AC

One of my classmates from high school has been posting on facebook about how the pandemic is not real/overblown/a consipracy, the vaccines for covid that were annouced recently are "jury-rigged" and potentially dangerous, shit like that. Not exactly full tinfoil hat level, but still rather jarring coming from a person whom I respect and remember as being pretty smart. It's making me sad.
This is the worst fucking timeline.
|
That's pretty tinfoil hat already
|
Well she's not full "Bill Gates made the virus so that he can depopulate the world and put mindcontrol microchips inside us" just yet. More like small tinfoil partyhat instead of a full tinfoil helmet.
|
It's pretty easy to believe the virus is fake if you work from home and only speak to a small circle of friends who are also completely isolated. Hard to believe a pandemic when literally nobody you know is sick. But if you have any contact with people who work outside, most of them are actually hiding their illness to not get into trouble of quarantine etc, because they NEED to work
|
If you use a Corona app and are outside regularly, i.e. public transport or in a gym or something, you will get notifications of people you've been in contact with being ill.
Since I stopped going bouldering - gyms are closed - I've got zero low risk contacts in contrast to 2-4/14 days otherwise.
My sister in law did also contact the virus around march, so it's been pretty real for me for a while.
Also pumpkinseed oil is glorious
|
I've got a case of
"I believe the virus is real, but I don't care about other people so open everything and let people live like pre-covid and let them die. If I die so be it." in the circle of friends and I am not sure how to approach this. All this because wearing a mask is annoying and gyms are closed. This person doesn't even participate in mainstream activities other than gym and work. No concerts/big events, nothing but small gatherings with family and friends.

I've uninstalled War Thunder, it has the same problem as dota, when it works it's fun, but those moments of fun are separated by hours of frustrating bullshit.
