Watching my co-worker play Faceless Void with the guide, it is incredible.
Few notes: - Blink is not really necessary - Get six-slotted too fast, further removing Blink's value - Manta Style instead of Sange and Yasha? - S&Y Situational, Manta Core, removing Blink Dagger - Max Q early on to justify removing Blink Dagger - Someone suggested Diffusal Blade as situational items
I really think that MoM Maelstorm Void is still the way to go, you can solokill well and still be able to catch up on farm and head on to BKB and aghs from there on. Maybe if you're offlaning and you have an ally that can do.the damage for you when you jump in and chrono then you can cut down the MoM and go straight for Maelstorm and BKB.
Idunno, maybe I dont really know what im talking about here but those are just my 2 cents. I dont think SnY or manta is a good item for void at all since he doesn't scale from the illusions and if you just wanted the aspd might as well go for maelstorm and you get a good farming mechanic and decent damage.from the.lightning proc. If you are afraid of getting nuked while you are chronoing then it may make more sense to get a BKB instead of SnY.
Maybe this is just because i have a thing against sny, i just dont find it as a good item for Void. on slark maybe since the maim is good on him, the added max hp increase is great since you will be using ur 1st skill (forgot whats its called) to gank and you can regen health while you use your ult and you can build it up from (or into) a silver edge depending on what your facing up against (if ur up vs pa or bb then makes more sense to keep it as a silver edge).
but for void i think sny is just not worth it for how he is meant to be played
also ill just leave this here since its probably relevant:
again im just trying to weigh in here, im just another typical pub player, so take this with a grain of salt
SnY is for when your hero already does everything you need it to, and you just want more of that.
That is not a situation that void finds himself in unless he's snowballing like crazy. The new void needs far too many things from his gold to buy a master-of-none item. SnY doesn't give you enough anything when you could spend that cash in a more targeted way.
Regarding blink, this is the exact same situation as when the exact same guy was playing windrunner. Of course it doesn't look necessary when complete newbies are letting him walk up and shackle/chrono big groups of them. That doesn't mean it remains unnecessary when people get better, or that he wouldn't be even more successful if he learned to use it.
Offlane void almost certainly wants blink in his first 4-8k gold. Carry void probably wants it regularly but situationally, depending on lineups and gamestates.
I dont think we should have void guide for the offlane in the first place, hero still excels better in the safelane especially in the lower bracket. Only thing that has changed is the fact that now u rather build void tanky rather than squishy initiator who removes 1 hero from the game in chrono.
I dont think blink is necessary in any position and i think u could just build void like any other melee carry is built nowadays (treads roa sny skadi bkb kinda stuff).
Obviously u benefit from attack speed even more than most of the heroes but u shouldnt feel like u have to get max attack speed in the first 2 items, rather tank up a bit and get damage output later (since with ur q u are suuper tanky early mid game, u are literally immortal if u have treads (vanguard, i still like it) sny etc.
Maxing q is safe while maxing e is greedy. Maxing w rarely makes sense but sometimes u feel like having more than 1 in w before lvl10 feels necessary but for guide, i would go 4-1-1-1 or just even lvl q and e.
Again, nobody really has any idea how void is supposed to be played.
I'd personally prefer he be left alone until he pans out in the pro scene. If we're going to talk about him anyway, small changes like adding blink and increasing the priority of aghs are much more sensible for something which is trying to be "standard" when there is no standard.
Regarding vanguard etc specifically, you certainly become difficult to kill as a 1pos if you build bulk, but the enemy team can also pretty safely ignore you after you've used chrono. 1pos void also needs to maintain a large gold lead that those items don't help you farm.
Blink wasn't needed because of the various reasons above. The game I watched him play had times where Blink was very useful, but overall; he moved past its usefulness quickly and at six-slots, I would prefer he have some stats (Treads -> Wand -> Vlads -> Blink [Stat item here]).
I prefer Vlad's over RoA despite the higher cost and I think Manta Style is useful for the extra damage during your ult (it works through ult, no?), however with BKB as Extension, it might confuse users.
I don't think Time Lock so early on is all that good, I prefer Q maxed, then Time Lock and Time Dilation. Of course a value point before 6 in all.

he is an outstanding offlaner right now. you should try playing a couple of games before you make this conclusion.

as an offlane void, strictly speaking, you're not going to six slot before your safe lane carry or mid and will be fulfilling a utility role.
On void again; there are two clearly different paths for void depending on whether you consider 1pos or offlane void the standard. Offlane void most definitely does want blink. Carry void, as I said, probably wants it occasionally. I assume your friend is functioning as a carry.
The guide as it stands is for offlane void, largely because the very few appearances he's made in pro games have been in that position. If you intend for offlane to remain the status quo, it needs to have blink.
If you want to go back to 1pos void then do whatever, because nobody knows. I'm personally partial to midas.
i didn't realize there was only one guide. there should probably be one for offlane and one for safelane if the patch continues to play out the way it does.
We're still in the honeymoon period with a new patch where people love it and think everything's viable.
Once we get to the point where the super-broken thing of the patch starts getting abused and we realize 90% of the things people tried are just bad, one of them will probably emerge as being way better than the other.
