The first game between Alliance and Vikin.GG was a stalemate for such a long time, cannot remember having seen such an even game in terms of networth after 90 minutes playing.
That sneaky smoke play into radiants base knowing that Drow will come sooner or later to defend was some great shotcalling by S4. Same was actually the only time that Shad got caught "out of position" in a 90 min game.
For fun I was looking at the tie breaker for the group stage and it seems confusing/broken?
If two or more teams have an equal amount of points, the final standings will be ruled based on the following priority:
- Number of matches won 2:0
- Maps difference
- Total game wins
- The sum of series wins for all of the teams that tied teams beat
How does 'Maps difference' and 'total games win' make any sense? Am I missing something? Isn't it mathematically impossible that in a BO3 group stage that two or more teams can ever be in a tie breaker with the same amount of 2:0 wins, same amount of 'map differences', but different amount of total wins?
Because at that point we know both teams have the exact same amount of loses, so the only variable is the total games won. Perhaps whoever made the rules just copy/pasted them from a BO5 bracket without thinking about the math?
edit: Unless 'map difference' means the amount of series won:lose as opposed to individual games won:lost, but that would make it an even more irrelevant tiebreaker as its impossible that number is different from your point score.
