Today, DreamHack announced that Meta4Pro has withdrawn from the lower division of the EU DPC. This due to self-reported suspicions of match fixing in during the season. The decision to withdraw was made by the team management after the teams last two matches, against Hippomaniacs and Burjui. The team simply states that they believe some of the players played "dishonest" and was possibly involved in betting related to the matches. This according to a google translate of the teams VK.com page. The team choses not to name names at this point.
DreamHack has accepted the withdrawal and have voided all the teams results so far. The organizer also announced that there will be no format changes. Two teams will still be relegated from the EU DPC, M4P will be one of them. DreamHack has also reported the incident to ESIC and Valve.
Before this, M4P found themselves at the very bottom of the lower division. The bottom two spots of the lower division notably does not pay out any prize money to those teams, meaning that the two bottom team will get nothing in return for a month of play. It is not an excuse for the behavior of the player(s), if the suspicions are proven to be substantiated, but it could be a contributing factor that led them down this dark path.
