Really surprised we didn't get larger economy changes, considering that top tier pro games currently take 20 minutes and are arguably mostly over by 15. I guess shards double as a money drain? No idea how viable shards are in general, 1.4k gold for no stats is pretty steep, but some seem pretty potent. Seems like a thing you get after the core items on most cores and rarely on most sups who need cast range + initiation + defensive utility unless it enables some really new playtype.

The BM shard at first seemed strange, but having controllable ward the can fly around and then before it runs out, u can turn into a stun seem amazing. The DarkSeer shard seem so strange, that u have run into fight to deliver this big punch almost like a spirit breaker. To be honest reading most 1,4k gold seem pretty cheap.

Maybe other people have less of a problem with feeling like they are playing like shit and then its not problem but i think there are quite a few people out there feeling like me.

I would not want to be in the shoes of those who return to the game after a long break from it though. It would be tough. For new players...it just got more complicated...again. I am fairly sure the pros will like the new items, new outplay potential and new clowny abilities. For all players, just one piece of advice: for the next month or so, STAY AWAY from ranked. New hero relese, means it's all a lottery of which team gets it, and if your team is the one, another lottery if the person playing it is actually any good with it. If you do play ranked, pray someone bans it, and the ban connects, or that both teams pick it

im beginning to think theres too many items in the game now, too many specific purpose buyable items on top of all the neutral items.

The majority of shards seems very good actually and the rest situational. Think at least 50% of heroes will buy shards every game. And having read the patch even more i think i will go back to playing. You can do more with button pressning which probably can make you win fights even though being behind in gold (but you cant know yet).

You can do more with button pressning which probably can make you win fights even though being behind in gold (but you cant know yet). the problem is they seem good, but they cost 1400 gold and you can only buy them after 20 minutes. by the time its 20 minutes most heroes absolutely need a key item to not get completely fucked by an opposing mechanic or to initiate ie bkb, dispels, saves, blinks -- some shards help with this, but the vast majority dont. id say 33% of shards are viable in most games, 33% are situational, 33% you will only see ultra late game, well maybe late game, if the game gets there.

Giving aghs will feel so good even to heroes that buys aghs them self, with the refund gold and extra stats when giving the aghs. Really feel this will be a game changer could see a Topson Morph getting and Alch and then he just get an extra 4200 gold i middle of game.

The only thing I'm rather underwhelmed by is the ultimate. A lot of windup and it only actually hits one hero.
