Sounds good for the lesser teams though

Hmm, I wonder about the part where the bottom two teams from tier 1 and the top two teams from tier 2 are swapped. Will they have to do a match against each other first? Will the set-up pretty much guarantee that the top tier 2 are better than the bottom tier 1? Or will better teams be dropping below weaker teams just due to formatting?
From my understanding, it will be a straight-up swap. No promotion/relegation matches. I am, however, not 100% sure of this so I chose not to include that statement.
Very pity if same is true and that Teams have actually no any option to punish such behaviour. Would be great if they can discuss this somehow with Valve as well to avoid such moves in the future.

gpk from Gambit had a valid contract, Gambit did not let him go and yet he refused to play the qualifiers and will most probably be released and join another team without having to fear any penalties. Just implement a ban for six months from any Valve-tournament if the contract is being violated from one side, does not matter if it is a player or an organization. Ban to be lifted in case of a mutual agreement between both parties.
So there was no valid contract in play.
No organisation has a contract with anyone where it states "if you want to leave mid-season there is no repercussion", I just don't believe that and if they do they are stupid.
To me it seems like there was no contract in play, otherwise the organisation could just point to the contract and say "you signed it, you stick to it".
All players have contracts that require sometimes enormous buyouts, but Zayac was technically not signed at all when VP poached him. It was a fuckup by NaVi.
