While this DPC offseason might have been one of the calmer ones, seen to the amount of changes, there certainly hasn't been a lack of drama. And today EG, and to some extent VP, continued on with that thread. EG announced their 2019/2020 roster today and they will continue on without Gustav "s4" Magnusson and Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan. To replace the duo, the team has signed Abed "Abed" Azel L. Yusop, from Fnatic, and Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev, formerly of VP.
S4 departing from the roster doesn't come as a huge surprise. The Swede has, historically, been one of the best players in the world. During his time with EG he couldn't fully live up to that reputation. He was good but he wasn't great most of the time.
The big surprise here is that SumaiL will leave the team. The midlaner has, for years now, been the player EG has built their roster around and he is still one of the best, if not the best, midlaners in the world. There have been rumors flying around regarding his next team but nothing is confirmed at this point.
For most teams, losing players of S4's and SumaiL's caliber would probably mean some downtime. At least a few months re-building but that might not be the case here. Both Abed and Ramzes are veterans of the scene at this point and have played at the highest of levels. The one question mark that remains is how well Ramzes will adapt to playing offlane.
