In early February, EsportsInsider reported rumours that there might be a Dota 2 Major held at Disneyland Paris later this year. While that initial report was based off a job listing, Mars Media, the company behind the MDL tournament series, has now confirmed that report with their official announcement of the MDL Disneyland Paris Major. The event will start on the 4th of May, with the finals being held on the 12th of the same month.
In a press release sent out this morning, MDL writes:
Mars Media and Disneyland® Paris are proud to join forces to co-produce the fourth Dota 2 Major of the Dota Pro Circuit 2018-2019 season, the first of its kind in France. Starting on May 4th and finishing on May 12th , the best international Dota 2 teams will battle it out at Disney’s Newport Bay Club and Disney® Events Arena. The best performing teams in the six online regional qualifiers will compete against one another in front of a 6,300-strong crowd at Disney® Events Arena totally transformed for the occasion.
This will be the first Dota major to be held in France and also the first high tier Dota 2 event hosted in the country. For those interested in attending the event, tickets will go on sale Monday 11th of March at 10:00 CET on the events official website.
