Virtus Pro have claimed their first Major championship, $750,000, and 750 qualifying points after defeating Team Secret 2-0 in the finals in Hamburg. They took first place in their group after defeating Keen Gaming in a bo1 and then they took down Team Liquid 2-1 to secure their playoff spot. From there they went on to beat Newbee in the semi-finals and finally defeated Secret in the finals 2-0.
This not only marks the end to the first Major but also the end of 7.06 as Valve has released a statement saying we can expect the new patch on November 1st. Congratulations to Virtus Pro who now sit comfortable in first place in the race to qualify for The International.
