Team Pheonix Signed by Immortals
The Korean stack, consisting of the same players that played under the MVP.Phoenix banner at TI6 were picked up by Immortals today.
During the past year, the players played in several teams. Just after TI6, Forev and MP went to play for Team Secret while QO, Febby and DuBu remained at MVP with the addition of Reisen and Velo. After the Boston Major, QO left to play with WanteD, a team lead by ppd, Febby went to Fnatic and DuBu joined Onyx, which later became Digital Chaos, when Forev joined him.
After not doing anything for the most part of the year, QO joined Febby in Fnatic where they qualified for TI7, after intentionally skipping out Kiev Major Qualifiers. While all of the players attended TI7, only MP, Forev and DuBu advanced to the main stage where all 3 of them got 9-12th place with Team Secret and Digital Chaos, respectively.
Statement by Immortals CEO, Noah Winston:
“At Immortals, we’ve made no secret of our desire, under the right set of conditions, to enter Dota 2. We were drawn to Dota because of the enthusiasm and avidity of the title’s fan base and the best-in-class live event experience. The game, fans, and presentation create a special combination of quality content and entertainment, precisely the kind of experience Immortals looks to deliver to our supporters.
Immortals remains committed to fielding winning teams and, simultaneously, adding value to the ecosystems and communities in which we compete, We look forward to the challenge of continuing to raise the bar for content and fan engagement in Dota and to furthering our mission, across all titles, of uniting fans and players, and bringing the esports community closer than it has ever been to the games it loves.”
The new Immortals roster:
No-a “ MP” Pyo Seon-yeob “ QO” Kim Sang-don “ FOREV” Lee Yong-min “ FEBBY” Kim Doo-young “ DUBU” Kim

I feel like Poached is the wrong word here, unless I've missed something. They were an unsponsored stack and now they're sponsored by IMT

NA became even more of an interesting region with this pick up.

Immortals the org is on the rise. They already have arguably the best Brazilian Csgo squad (SK have been kinda slumping recently). The Korean squad's success would make them even bigger.
|
I don't care what name or org they are playing under. All I want to see is messy scrappy aggressive caveman dota.
|
Ugh that statement reminds me of my software-ergonomics-courses. Max amount of empty nice sounding words in the least number of sentences possible.
That being said I'm happy MVP.Phoenix got a new sponsor/clan and if the org is successful atm, all the better.

This team is going to disappoint everyone.

Never heard of the name, I suppose they are big in other esports? Still, good to see this squad competing again, most of their games are really fun to watch.

Nice to see more competition even if it's already known names. Will they be good though? Hmm...
|
Glad to see old Mvp.Phoenix back. I really enjoyed this team. Hope QO can perform and the guys can give us some endless aggression back

NA dota keeping the spirit of cultural melting pot alive

Will they only pick heroes that have an immortal set though?

I would assume if they were playing in SEA they would play from korea and they had a lot of issues in the past there just because of ping problems and it should in their play. The old MVP Phoenix team was DRAMATICALLY better on lan than online. Hopefully by playing in NA that is less of an issue and they are able to get better practice as well.
