everybody is overrating c9 imo
Well personally I have a hard time saying c9 is favored to go through group A, but at the same time there is really no way of gaging that well. For me EG vs c9 for example comes down to pretty terrible reasoning in the sense that the current EG has only really played in one really big tournament in DAC which they won, and I haven't seen anything in the last 4-5 months which would warrant me to say that EG will do poorly. MLG was just one LAN and sometimes a team can lose, so before they drop a bunch of games on LAN again it's hard for me to say why EG wouldn't go through. But at the same time I don't really have a great argument for why they would be favored against c9 in a bo3 without seeing them play at all.

my personal guess is something like
cuz again, there's no way to differentiate 5/6 as well as 7/8
1) VG-EG finals, check
2) Secret at 3rd, check
3) Burning at 4th, check
4) C9 at 5-6th in tournament with Burning, VG and EG, check again.
Yeah, should be the outcome.

If the groups were different I think C9 could have a good chance of getting out of the groups, but I think they're in the group with the 2 best teams there.
We can't judge EG form tbh. I mean, i have not seen how well Sumail works on pushing mids, and that actually matters. Unless ppd is going to pull a Puppey and pick SF every game.
As for the tournament itself, I realize that they probably need to save time, but I never like it when group stages are sub-divided into separate little groups. It almost always ends up artificially shafting at least one team.
Secret I'm not super confident about. They did well at Redbull but this phase they're in internally doesn't fill me with confidence.
EG? I don't know. PPD is probably the best captain in Dota right now. On the other hand I don't feel like SumaiL has fully evolved. But overall I think they have the breadth to possibly win. Or get stomped on.
But eh, top 6 will all take games from each other. Could see any two of them in the final. I think you're maybe underestimating Rave as well - would be surprising for a decent team with the unknown factor to fail every game in a new patch.
And there should be a correction: VG did not lose 3-0, they lost 2-0 or 4-1 depending on how you look at it.
