Dota 2 Champions League Finals
Na`Vi just won the D2CL Finals 3-1 over Cloud 9 in a fairly convincing fashion. Team Empire takes 3rd.
These finals were a really long time coming, but they are finally over. Natus Vincere triumphed over Cloud 9 in the Dota 2 Champions League Grand Finals with a score of 3-1. Their play was very convincing in this series, showing that they are working hard on improving for the upcoming International. Cloud 9 put up a decent fight today (excluding game 4 of course), and will walk away in 2nd place which isn't too bad when you look at the list of great teams in D2CL. Both teams will walk away with a massive amount of prize money, almost being the highest we've seen yet. Na`Vi will be earning $61,500, while Cloud 9 will take away $30,750. This is really impressive for an online event which doesn't require teams to travel.
Natus Vincere and Cloud 9 both had a great run in the D2CL. Cloud 9 struggled a bit in the group stages, but they went 3-1 against both Fnatic and Team Empire in the playoffs, showing off some great Dota. Na`Vi tore up the group stages on the other hand, and they were able to take out Alliance in the Semi-final. Today's games were pretty one-sided for Na`Vi, especially game 4 where Cloud 9 decided to go with some next-level pocket strategy with a Tinker/Puck safelane. In the end it didn't turn out very well, and Na`Vi finished the game on the back of Dendi's Storm Spirit, winning the series 3-1.
Congratulations to Na`Vi on winning the Dota 2 Champions League Season 2. Good luck in your upcoming matches.
