The sibling rivalries between Lina the Slayer, and her younger sister Rylai, the Crystal Maiden, were the stuff of legend in the temperate region where they spent their quarrelsome childhoods together. Lina always had the advantage, however, for while Crystal was guileless and naive, Lina's fiery ardor was tempered by cleverness and conniving. The exasperated parents of these incompatible offspring went through half a dozen homesteads, losing one to fire, the next to ice, before they realized life would be simpler if the children were separated. As the oldest, Lina was sent far south to live with a patient aunt in the blazing Desert of Misrule, a climate that proved more than comfortable for the fiery Slayer. Her arrival made quite an impression on the somnolent locals, and more than one would-be suitor scorched his fingers or went away with singed eyebrows, his advances spurned. Lina is proud and confident, and nothing can dampen her flame.
I decided to create a thread for Lina because she is a support I enjoy playing.
But there's a point that surprises me a lot: maybe I'm wrong, but Lina is not picked in this metagame. With the domination of SD picks in this game, Lina should be a strong support to duo with SD, but she doesn't seem to picked too often, and people prefer instead to pick Mirana with disruption. Any reasons why?
Here is how I like her:
5 position support with almost no farm, if I have synergy with someone else in my team, I ask for a gank duty with him. If not, I go safelane and pull for the carry and babysit him if needed. Even if I'm the only support, I try a gank. Let's be honest, Lina's stun is the easiest non-reliable stun to land, the prediction-factor is not high compared to Leshrac's earth splitter or other sources of stuns.
Boots, wand, observers, sentries, dusts if needed, arcane boots, blink, force staff or euls depending of the game.
Lina needs a mobility item to be useful mid/late game, and because she is, for me, an agressive support, blink is a great choice.
