I'm wondering what is "standard" nowadays on Luna (safe lane carry build). I honestly find almost every late game item somewhat underwhelming. Here are some thoughts:
Old school build: tranqs, drums, yasha, bkb, into manta bfly HoD etc
With the heavy nerf on tranqs, it doesn't seem that great any more. I've recently seen Aui and others prefer shadow blade for the move speed (+20%) and just go for power treads so that you have early strength.
"New?" recent build: RoAquila (which sometimes you also see in the old schools build, esp if there's no drums), power treads, shadow blade, into bkb then manta etc
A couple key questions:
1) What do you guys think about going shadow blade? I've tested it and was just plain surprised at how effective the move speed is (of course, you can invis ult, which is a bonus, but I really think the move speed and damage is the reason to get this). It seems like this allows you to delay your manta/yasha because you don't need more move speed (and, of course, skip drums) and just go into your BKB
2) Anything you feel is missing from "core"? Typically, I see/think of manta, bkb as the key items you almost always get on Luna.
3) What are some good late game/end game items? Bfly is pretty common, but I've also heard commentators say they really don't like it that much on Luna. Also, Satanic is super old school. I remember Aui saying that ever since they changed the lifesteal on bounce rule, Satanic isn't as strong (but situationally good). With manta, it feels like +stats items > +damage, but if you go shadow blade, I suppose this isn't as vital.
Any and all thoughts welcome. I'm working on an in-game build to go along with my lifestealer build .
EDIT: Posted the In-Game Dota 2 Build for Luna based somewhat in this conversation and my thoughts on the topic.
