Start MMR: 650 Last Week MMR: - This Week’s MMR: 614 Next Week’s MMR Goal: 750
This Week’s Heroes: Weaver, Queen of Pain
Report: I once thought I knew true darkness. The way it festers within you, hidden ever so carefully so you think you are going insane; they were feelings that I thought I felt. But no. When the Void opened up and beckoned me, I came willingly. I accepted its clutch as its arms kept me prisoner. But not even the purest light can find me here. You can walk out of hell; this is inescapable.
Shitty writing aside, HOLY FUCK. I knew it would be bad. I knew it would scar me but words cannot describe what I feel. I have unearthed some realities of the Void for you all, things that are always true here.
1. The designated carry will feed. I don’t care who or what they are playing. They will feed, and not even FY’s Rubick could help. 2. Speaking of supporting, you can’t do that here. Your efforts will be wasted. 3. If you don’t start taking towers from minute 10, you will lose. There was a game where my team had a ~15 kill advantage, but we kept letting them take towers. We lost. 4. FARM. I knew I needed to secure many last hits early game, but I cannot stress enough the importance of every creep you last hit. You should AT LEAST have 40 by 10 minutes, regardless of your position (remember, no supporting). 5. Offlaners. Offlaners are key. Offlane will never fail you here. Remember that. 6. PLAY HEROES WITH A BUILT IN ESCAPE, especially if it’s invis. They can and will chase you into your base, even with all of your team towers up. 7. Do not rely on your team, but try to help them with teamfights. 8. BE THE LEADER. Everyone is trying to do different things at the same time, and it never works. Give them a reason to do what you say, and most will comply.
I got up to 728, but my dreams were shattered as I started to play QOP and went on a losing streak. Blink as an escape is sometimes not enough, especially when they are willing to chase so much.
I admit, I did make a lot of obvious mistakes that I knew were wrong when making them. One loss could have been completely avoidable if not for my tiny mistakes, and some others may have as well.
I did make a friend, though. His name is Tyler. He’s a pretty cool guy.
Captain’s Mode is best mode, but it’s going to take 7-10 minutes to find. People would lock in captain and then ignore their team and pick whoever they felt like. Luckily, the last match I played, the captain picked a Weaver, and I went ~20-0. Also!! I got my first Rampage!!!
I’ve learned a lot already, but I can’t stop (even if these games do nothing but wound me). I will hit my goal!

PS: I will try to stream again this saturday. What do you think this weeks heroes should be?
EDIT: I can't stream on this weekend, but I will stream on Thursday. Also, I'm going with Timbersaw and Juggernaut (Timber due to my personal preference, and Jugger due to you guys <3).
EDIT#2: It looks like I will be able to stream on Saturday. I don't believe I will stream today (Thursday).

I vote for Gyrocopter and Lina.

We're all rooting for you!
I second Juggernaut and maybe Deaf Profit.

Riki is completly OP at this rank I guees as people dunno detection.
Any mid hero u can play, if u truly deserve better MMR owning mid is the easiest path to reach ur goal.
Also in this 5 man meta I like to play heroes with AOE. Like this I can contribute a lot more to team fights.
And forgot about captain mode, I mean, WTF???
Offlane doesnt exist at this rank, even at 2k1 where I stand offlane barely exists.
Sometimes u can exploit the chasing behavior... pull them to towers, try to explain to your team to get TPs, learn to juke to survive longer and bait better. If only one player in your team TPs to help you it can be a big win (admitedly even at 2k I rarely have this luck, but I try to TP help as much as I Can, it works in both direction).
Regarding contribution to fight: the BIGGEST mistake when you play 1 is to contribute TOO MUCH to fights. Especially to losing ones (even to winning ones if you didnt get the kills as nobody cares to let the 1 LH in pubs). It hurts your farm a lot (or well, it should hurt a lot if you have decent farming abilities).

It hurts your farm a lot (or well, it should hurt a lot if you have decent farming abilities). Detection is actually surprisingly common. It falls off by mid-to-late game, but in the laning stage, us voidwalkers are actually pretty decent. Also, meta doesn't exist down here. Only the truly legendary meta (staring at Dendi's Pudge here) reaches our depths. The bests bet isn't even to go mid, but to become a tank. Your tanks can and will be squishy because they always prioritize damage items over tanky items unless they already have damage items (and even then, sometimes). And when it comes to diving, they are good at escaping with minimal health. They don't really think about the possibility of having another teammate behind the tower. For TPs, they are pretty good without explanation. You just have to remind them every five minutes. Also, if you don't help with teamfights, your team will get mauled over and then you'd lose a tower or two. Helping (and winning!) teamfights makes your team more motivated, farmed, and helps you get objectives. On top of that, your team is more likely to listen to you outside of teamfights if you led them into a winning teamfight. The key here is staying alive long enough to make sure the enemy team is low enough for your team to easily kill (if not getting kills yourself).

http://www.dotabuff.com/heroes/meta I suggest picking heroes you like from this page. Don't vary them too often. 100+ games in on a hero you are still learning some stuff each game.

Other than that, yeah it's a good idea. Thanks, Yurie!
