There are plenty of strong draft combinations and hero combinations but the pro players usually settle into 4-6 draft lines and this pretty much determines what most people pick to react to that type of draft. Then again sometimes a team comes along (like Secret) or any team with a drafter who can understand the pattern of picks and create a surprise draft (or several) that can beat them. We saw this during the last TI as teams evolved over several days. But this was because they were under that pressure to develop new strategies in record time.

His power curve is strange and rises at different time frames starting from level 1. He can do things with early items, can 1v1 in safe lane, can combo with supports, can scale very well with items, can deal with illusions(PL lelel) and push. Probably one of the few carries that versatile if not the most. Previously there were over buffed heroes and ridiculous comeback gold mechanic which allows some other heroes shine. Tldr, I'd say versatility and wide power curve in general.
