Ok the reason for this:
1.) i want to post my biased opinion .. i don't see a thread where i post this 2.) D A C H Y P E 3.) i got really really bored .. seriously i should be sleeping or doing relevant stuff instead of this
Disclaimer : This is just completely speculation level since i haven't watched most of the games of at least half the teams and this list could be completely biased. It's gonna have shit formatting probably and YOU DON'T AGREE WITH THIS ? IT'S MY POWER RANK DEAL WITH IT. Also sorry for the shitty grammar in advance.
I'm not including the wildcard spots on the list.
#14 Idk about this teamTongFu Like the title suggests since i don't know what spectacular about them. I also have not seen many games of them and they don't have good looking results either. They don't have famous eastern players. So i think they are not gonna do well. #13 PINOY STACK OF THE KR SCENERave #12 KOREAN OVERLORDSMVP Phoenix LETS BOW ON OUR KOREAN OVERLORDS. Just kidding this is dota 2 no way that's happening. The reason i'm putting them above Rave even if Rave won more against this team recently iirc. This team has more international exposure than Rave(both western and chinese teams) which makes them above the pinoy squad lead by Jeyo. The possibility of them going deep this tournament is low. Given that CIS teams could beat them easily when the CIS scene is considered weaker than the Chinese scene. How much more will they against the best in the world ? Although if the enemy teams are willing to ignore March Warlock and given that QO-GOD carry hard enough. Then upsets aren't impossible. #11 Chinese C9 CDEC Gaming The title says it. They just can't close an important just like C9. And with their recent performance during D2L S5 losing to the new EG and VPP. I don't have much faith with this team. #10 The next best CIS team to empire. HellRaisers The boys in red who loves to both play 5 man dota and play the farm game. The team where EE-sama hyped every now and then. While they don't have Sonneiko(PR) the greatest carry of CIS and the chances of them going deep DAC is low. Guranteed this team will put up a great show. #9 The allstar team where ferrari_430 should belong. Big God The team with the most vibrant players from 3 out of 4 strongest chinese teams during TI4. The team is composed of DK's very own Burning which is one of the greatest chinese carries along with Sylar and Hao, Rotk the pride of VG, Lanm DK previously talented support and Xiao8 others know him as "Director8" the man who lead newbee which took the crown as best team of TI4. On paper the team looks amazing at first since the team has the reason why DK was formed(Burning) and Xiao8 one of the best captains in dota 2 history who lead many strong teams which includes the champion of TI4. However this team hasn't shown great performance since the team is not "serious" and obviously they lack one player to make the 3/4 into 4/4. #8 THE BEST OF N A D O T A Evil Geniuses On paper probably the team who got the worst out of the great western reshuffle. Also there first showing isn't particularly good as well. (Not like C9 did great but they did better) Suma1l is certianly no arteezy and Aui_2000 felt underwhelming with the squad during the debut of the new squad. This DAC is the time for EG squad to show they are still the best with or without arteezy. Also a time to show if Suma1l can fill the big shoes arteezy left. If he can do well like how he is doing well in NEL great ! If not then it's ok different teams and different player. #7 Team Fire of the East EHOME Ehome looks good but probably not good enough to go deep enough to take the championship crown. They are not bad but they probably won't do well vs the strongest chinese and western team. #6 Not the strongest chinese team anymore. Invictus Gaming I don't know what to say. With June out iirc and with the rumours of burning joining may only happen after DAC. I don't see the team getting top 3. #5 2nd Best Western Team (probably) Cloud 9 My heart says that this team should be 2nd1st place of the power rank but my head says otherwise. The departure of the support duo pieliedie and aui_2000 is painful as if the departure of SingSing wasn't painful enough. It's hard to tell if the risk that cores of the team decided to take by replacing tactical feeding expert and Jasmine with the perfect flower and the offlane reject #2 of Team Secret is a good thing or a bad thing. With how their clowny performance against Team Fire looked at DAC NA qualifiers. This could possibly still be the team that the fans fell inlove with. If the aggressive dual support of this team will work for the good then they could possibly snipe the 2nd place1st place with the newblood of aggression. Or if this goes bad the decision to replace Kawai_2000 and pld could be a terrible terrible mistake. I hope this is finally the tournament where EE-sama leadership will finally pay off and all the crushed hearts of C9 fans will be mended with all the second places C9 got. EE-sama no mercy please. #4 Chinese Powerhouse LGD Gaming This team is no doubt really really really stacked. While they didn't perform the first few months after TI4 and maybe they have their reasons like not taking dota 2 seriously. With the 2 million USD price they are definitely motivated enough. And there recent matches has a really really scary form that the potential of this team is finally picking up. This team is really scary and if they don't dominate DAC. There is a big chance that they will dominate in the future especially if you think about the idea that they have the best carry of china right now and everybody knows that the best in china may mean the best of the world as well.(sorry Hao .. you're still the best morphling and weaver player i've ever seen) I could be overhyping them or i could be right. Who cares. #3 Most likable Eastern Team next to DKVici GamingThey are not very consistent but are probably the best team in the world right now. It won't be a surprise if they top 3 easily or even the championship since they have shown that they could. However for all the other scary teams in this tournament. To prove their worth they need to beat the best team in the world. This is also the time for black to prove that he should not be replaced as their carry lol. #2 They are the most hyped team ever since DK(probably). Cloud 9Team Secret The "supposedly" juggernaut of the west. DK 2.0. You can call them whatever you want. While they have no tangible evidence that warrant them this spot on the power list since they literally no games of them as the new roster. Just the idea that they have the best mid in the west(yes i've said it), the power of the proven old na'vi support duo, one of the youngest great talents of the western scene scene(zai) and the most talented core player(aside from the dendi) that has ever graced the western scene who showed nothing but absolute excellence in all the teams he has ever played with. I'm putting them #2 due to benefit of a doubt. Like C9 chances are this team could just fail miserably or they could just fulfill all the hype around and make DAC the debut of the strongest western team that has ever existed in the history of dota. #1 Hao can anybody beat them ?Newbee They won ECL without practice. The tournament is for 2 million dollars dude there is no way they are not practicing for the event. Honestly i don't think any of the teams have what it takes to beat them in their top condition(not even VG). The dual core Hao, Mu and the super-talented offlaner rabbit is likely gonna crush the competition and the hearts of the fans this DAC. They already took the aegis of TI4, will they also take the rapier of DAC ?
If you reached this far. Thanks for reading cause i don't know what i'm doing with my life right now lol
EDIT: Lastly it's ok to use the teamlogo pictures of the teams here at LD, right ?

Nice rankings and a good read. It'll be interesting to see how all these teams shape up. I'm really rooting against Newbee though, I hope someone can knock them out early.
|
Meh this power ranking is better then most such as the c9, eg, and secret top 3 I seen but still could be improved IMO.
|
ehome a little worse, c9 top3 otherwise its pretty good (to my surprise)
|
I'd put TS lower and TongFu higher, but otherwise it's ok.
|
14. Rave 13. MVP 12. CDEC 11. HR 10. BG 9. EG 7/8. Tongfu+EHOME 5/6. IG/Secret 4. C9 3. VG 2. LGD 1. NB Also Sylar better carry than Hao lmfao
|
I'm expecting 1 western team to surprise and the other 2 to dissapoint but I'm unsure which team will surprise.

fantastic post goody. As a fellow C9 fan (or ex-fan) I agree with most of your points. I also wish people did more of these as they were a mainstay of the old days in TL BW and SC2.
Also to the poster above me; Sylar was better than Hao (up until TI4 which favored midgame aggression and then deathball pushing); though it's probably a wash these days since both have not looked world beating.

After TI3 VG won like nothing while IG and NB got very good results.

Ehh, iG with hao was very erratic, they were also carried by Ferrari; NB was the best team for 3 months yes, but VG was very consistent(winning ems and placing high in many tourneys)
Sylar wasn't why they lost ti3 haha but we can agree to disagree, to me sylar has always been the most consistent carry outside of burning

s4 is better than Arteezy at mid. RTZ is a 1, sometimes playing as mid.

NB dominate the chinese scene together with DK and IG as a dark horse, VG was always the tier 1.5 who got eliminated by one of these 3

I'm glad you understand that your western bias exists and didn't let it HEAVILY influence your rankings, because let's face it, the west is at a HUGE disadvantage in this tournament.

NB was good literally for 3 months. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/Newbee#Team_Achievements
iG was good late 13 and then briefly for ESL Frankfurt, they were the most inconsistent by far and went through 2 major roster swaps. DK was the best team up until WPC and VG was the most consistent.

Ehome will probably do better here. Mushi's team dedication will have some clever drafts that will push them into the top 3 position.
Think iG and Secret despite their star line-up won't perform as well, especially the latter given the chinese home advantage.
LGD has been consistently strong throughout recent tournaments, while VG is always a bit flaky, but they! Everyone on their team makes the most amazing plays, thats why I carry their flair.
NB meh.. hao do these guys win. Hope they don't go far.

Things move pretty fast in the Dota2 world, once NaVi and Alliance look all but invicible, as well as iG and NB. Today these teams seem vulnerable enough. 3 months ago, no one thought MVP would make a deep run in any tourney outside of Korea. So yeah, given EHOME's current performance I don't see them going anywhere but up?

i agree, LGD has looked really inconsistent with the star squad and Ehome have been in really good form lately. Also iG don't have a 5th player right now lol and Luo is not as good as ZYF. (outside of 430, iG's cores are all worse than Ehome's cores)
NB/VG are probably top 2 imo, 3rd to 10th could really be any order

I'd put MVP a little higher, I think they can upset some of the lower Chinese squads and whichever Western team/teams that start choking. The top part of the rankings I definitely agree with though.

They already took the aegis of TI4, will they also take the rapier of DAC ? Are you super smart with words, or is there an actual rapier?
Btw I like the list, but I'd put c9 one spot higher. Also, MUCH is going to depend on who faces who.

Really nice post, enjoy'd it and agree with most of it. Wish more people would post this or we'd get a TL one done. Really agree about BG where is 430 ? He really deserves a good team, any team he's in gets carried to doing ok just by having him in, last good team he had won TI. Common IG give 430 a good backup cast!

+ Show Spoiler +And then Newbee was 0-2 losing to MVP and EG is 2-0... I seriously didn't expect this
Before the matches started I would have mostly agreed, I think TeamSecret is a little overrated but is still really good.
|
more like the western teams are underrated compared to the eastern
|
keep in mind group stages only matter to get top 8 or 12 really nothing else and this was only day 1 so don't draw too big conclusions lol there's a lot of dota left to play
newbee went like 6-9 in the TI4 groups lmao
|
it's still day 1 .. after seeing MLG colombus and TI4 .. i only trust the playoffs lol
tbh totally did not expect EG to destroy all 3 top chinese contenders convincingly
|
Newbee looking deserving of that no.1 ranking
|
|
people dont do their hw before actually posting things like this. It's just all the OP's opinion
|
Hey OP take heart...you got Secret pretty close on the money :D

" They won ECL without practice.

Even now, I think you did pretty good job. No1 expected Newbee to crash so hard. I only think that EG and C9 should swap places :p. GJ, dude

I'm pretty sure 99% of people had Newbee in their compendium predictions

to be fair, he got a 50/50 in the top 2 prediction )

You were wrong about Newbee practicing for this event!
