A lot of work has gone in so far and I'm hoping to have a beta version come out soon TM for some people to test!
Now about the game:
The game is going to be rolled out on a chapter basis meaning it can be continued indefinitely until we decide the story has run its course. The beta we're planning on releasing will have roughly one third of the first chapter.
So far the game is looking to be like early FF/pokemon in style, the combat system is going to be very familiar except with a slight twist (should feel like a cross between the two games).
Yes, Dota skills are going to be present
Balancing this combat system versus mobs is what is taking the longest time to sort out, once that is done then the beta will be released, however because it's the thing thats most finnicky and important to get right it means that progress will increase drastically as all we have to do to progress is level design, dialogue and story + Show Spoiler +
with some new items and skills added in every so often

As to the humour of the game it is going to be VERY TL/LD in joke related so if there is any jokes you think I don't/won't know about please contact me so I can include everyone in the game (I don't want it to end up being entirely #tl.dota2 related and as so inaccessible to people outside this group). This can be pertaining to any part of TL or any user thats part of the inner TL community (im relatively new on this forum, theres 10 years of history that predates me here). Thanks to Alurr for helping me with some of this stuff already.
I need to populate a game world largely governed by this site and there is no way I can do that from just the members I know personally.
I'm not going to be releasing the game until we deem it both funny and fun to play, it is a game after all and thats why we're having to spend time trying to get the balance of skills right.
The Team:
The main people working on the game are Me (Targe), Qbek and Moreno/ahswtini/Karla as well as a bunch of others I go to for advice/help.
This is just a side project though that we are doing for fun so this does all take a while as it's not always the most pressing thing we have to do.

all i know is im going to be covering object orientated stuff in the first year mrcon, i cant remember the exact languages i was told when i went there to visit

like a quarter of my course for the first year is discrete maths as well
most people are going in the game anyway regardless of what they want ^_^
also everyone will have their personality/persona exxagerated for example Andre literally looks like a potato gypsy and i look like a 12 year old girl with bright red/ginger hair.
im aiming to get the core userbase of Liquid Dota included in some way or another, you travel to different parts of Liquid Dota in the game and all these zones need to be populated ^_^
people could be anything from a dungeon boss to a town NPC
